Working for the community
Future Jobs Fund is a new initiative that the project is working with East Ayrshire council skills development and employability service and Department of works and pension.
The aim of the project is to provide job opportunities for young people aged 18–24 years these positions must provide a benefit to the community.
At present we have:
- 12—Out of school care workers
- 12—Community grass cutters
- 36—Maintenance team
- 10—Community hit squad
- 12—Home buddies
All positions last 6 months are 25 hrs per week at minimum wage, are recipients of job seekers allowance and have been unemployed for 6 months or more.
